Tradition and Compassion

St Barnabas Anglican Church has been a place of worship and friendship since 1888, when the newly founded town of Ithaca needed a new church to service a booming population.  Today Red Hill is only a few kilometres from the centre of Brisbane, and Waterworks Road carries thousands of commuters a day to work in the city.  Perhaps you are one of them and maybe you have seen the cute wooden church on the hill.  Perhaps it reminds you of an earlier time that was more grounded and connected.  That’s what St Barneys is about – connecting.  Connecting people together in community.  Connecting our worship today with two thousand years of Christian tradition.  Connecting ourselves with an inner need for spiritual connection with God,

Perhaps…

You might like to visit.  Maybe meet some new people.  Sing some hymns you remember.  Have a cup of tea.  Take in a meditation class. Or maybe you would like to share your significant occasion with us in our Church, attend one of the community events or activities held in the hall.   You can find out all about our services, activities and contact details on this site.
